Social Media Mondays! Twitter and Foursquare July 16

Our next Social Media Workshop will focus on using Twitter and Foursquare, on Monday July 16th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

Want to be a hashtag hero or just get in the twitterloop? Tweeters welcome. Forget the clutter found on Facebook and enjoy witty and real time updates in 140 characters or less. Learn the language and why this social media app is so addictive and entertaining.

Foursquare, kind of a forgotten cousin of Facebook and Twitter, has huge benefits. Foursquare is hugely social, attracting the attention of predominantly young, college students and working graduates via geo-location technology to their mobile device. Friends know where you are and what businesses you are visiting. It turns somewhat mundane trips into a game of points and pretty cool rewards and benefits.

In our Social Media Series, led by DHS Graduate and Social Networking maven, Maddy Clark along with other social media gurus, you will learn about the pros and cons of each social media tool, how to set up a profile, security settings, what information is private, and much more.

From 7pm- 8pm each Monday, workshops will be offered on a particular social media application. From 8pm – 8:30pm, stay and get your questions answered, brainstorm which apps best fits your interests and get started. Workshops are $10 per person/$15 parent & teen.
