SNACK ALERT
|
|
We are in desperate need of shelf stable snacks. If every family contributes, this will be the last time we request snack options. Single serve items, fruit, pretzels, cheezels, yoghurts, puddings are very popular with our Alden members.
We are well stocked with drinks. Thank you for your support of the Alden snack program. Our Members appreciate it!

We are on the countdown with only a few days left. At this stage we just $150 away from our $1,000 goal. We will gladly accept your pennies, dimes, and dollars of any denomination.

Get ready for the first annual DSU "DreSsed Up" Fundraiser!
Donate your child's clean gently worn dresses and jackets from ballroom dancing and the holidays to the DSU. Next fall, the DSU will hold a dress & jacket sale event for 5th, 6th and 7th grade. The sale event will be a fun way to add an extra dress for your daughters dances or move up a size in your son's jacket. The DSU will be collecting the dresses and jackets through the first week in May at the DSU.

Dear DSU Alden Members and Friends,
May is another action packed month with special projects to celebrate Mother's Day, Fist Full of Fun camp, Freaky Friday and open house events for 2nd graders and everyone at Alden.
As a result of numerous requests and suggestions, for the remainder of the year, the DSU is piloting two new programs, an Extended Day program and a Try it Thursday program for Nonmembers. The spring season is an opportune time to pilot such programs as our attendance is typically lighter due to sports and other activities.
Our Extended Day program is available Monday through Thursday providing supervision 2p.m up to 5p.m. Alden Members and friends will enjoy structured program time from 2p.m. - 3p.m., From 3p.m. onwards, they will have the flexibility to participate in programmed activities with DMS Members, complete homework or enjoy activities throughout the building. The extended day program is $15 and requires 48 hours advance sign up so we can manage staffing needs. Payment is due on the day of attendance or can be made in advance.
Our Try it Thursday program is for any Alden student interested in getting the inside scoop on the DSU to find out first hand what everyone is talking about! Alden friends can attend on Thursdays (with a completed registration form), enjoy programmed activities and enjoy a snack and drink. Try it Thursday is $10 or $25 when including Extended day. 48 hours advance notice is required so we can manage staffing needs. Payment is due on the day of attendance or can be made in advance.
Please feel free to share this information with your friends. We will also be hosting Open Houses for incoming 3rd graders, as well as current Alden students and incoming 5th graders starting Monday, May 17th. Alden Members make the best tour guides so we encouraged our Members to join us on these days. Open Houses are 4.30p.m - 5.30p.m.

Friday, May 7th is a professional day and that means a Fist Full of Fun at the DSU from 9a.m. - 3p.m.
Join us for indoor and outdoor fun. Water sports, weather permitting, basketball tourney and flag football. We'll also spend some time thinking about Mom with a special handmade gift to take home.
Come all day or just for a few hours. All day - Members $35, Nonmembers $45. 9a.m-3p.m OR 12noon - 3p.m Members $20, Nonmembers $25.
The Blender will be open at lunchtime with pizza ($2 a slice), drinks and snacks.
Advance registrations are required by Thursday, March 6th at 5p.m. If you are interested, please click here. We need a minimum of 20 participants to proceed.
